Overview: Transcending

Transcending

The final form of energy in the wellness energy system is a subtle one that has only recently been given scientific credence. It is the realm of the transcendent or the spiritual (a word that's only now becoming acceptable in everyday speech). The human ability to transcend ordinary consciousness is actually an age-old gift that opens mind and heart to the potential of love, and to the miracle and magnificence of the moment, so often forgotten in the daily grind of our busy lives.

The process of sitting quietly in meditation, dancing into ecstatic states around a fire, or entering a trance state through ritual have been all but lost in our industrialized world where materialism reigns supreme and we tend to live as if what we see is all there is. To better balance our use of energy and experience ourselves as whole beings--body, mind, and spirit--we need to know and honor this transcendent side of our human nature.

Transcending is the movement in which all our energies are experienced as one. This section is about coming to know that we are one with all that is--and that the "one" that we are, is energy. This knowledge inspires both love and self-responsibility, and brings us full circle in the never-ending spiral of wellness.

Transcending is the 12th of the 12 dimensions of wellness in the Wellness Inventory.

Religion only seems different if you are dealing with a retailer. If you deal with a wholesaler, they all get it from the same distributor.
